What is the development status of the "Gateway"?

I don't mean to be offensive but looking at the revision notes I realize that there are no "Gateway" updates since "January 01, 2021" and I am concerned if the project is actually active. Does anyone have any information if "Google" still intends to develop this product?

Given that there have been no responses from the Google team in over 6 months, there is every indication that API Gateway is dead on arrival.

Is there any other GCP resource you recommend using instead of Gateway, that has the same features?
