I've been playing around with VitaDock using my Vita-PCH2001 and a raspberry pi, however nothing I do seems to work. When I plug my vita into my Raspberry Pi 3 Model B USB port, nothing happens. There's no error and nothing is displayed on the Vita, Raspberry Pi, or my monitor. Weirdly enough, the Vita works perfectly fine when using OBS on my Windows 10 PC. So, here are some things I've tried:
Also, the steps that I took is to download the vitadock image, flash it to a SD card using raspberry pi imager, download and ftp the udcd_uvc plugin to the vita, restart the vita, plug in the raspberry pi to a monitor, plug it into power, wait for the raspberry pi to fully boot, and finally plug the vita into the pi.
Following the failure of the crowd-funded VitaDock, in which its creator xCorra disappeared from the internet, the folks working on it decided to share their work and keep on supporting it which has encouraged users to build their own DIY VitaDock. Now, Crash-Cortez has released the final version of the VitaDock VLC software for those who want to create their own dock!
Check the repository page for updates and rewrite the image when there is one. Data stored on the dock will be overwritten but this isn't really a distribution you're meant to store data on in the first place.
I took the PS Vita Stand by LordLeXaT and cleaned up the front and added a different PS Vita logo, then cut out a 2-stage channel down the center and added a channel to run the cord. The bottom half of the hole is large enough for the USB tip to fit through, but only the top half will fit the Playstation end of the cord, so it will sit high enough up for the dock to make a connection.
I used a brim to guarantee flat corners but no other support was needed.
