Check YOUR OWN PIPING for galvanized pipes to BRASS or other dissimilar metal involving Potable water hot and cold.
I use a magnet from Home Depot or Harbor Freight which is worth the purchase and is small like a pencil eraser.

Subject: RESPONSE FROM THORNTON LABS WORTHY OF COMMENT. "Steve Fickette from Thornton Labs and another at Thornton Lab TODAY CONCUR THERE IS A SUPER DANGEROUS PROBLEM plus mentioned ALL should be aware of the EPA and DEP limits for Toxic Iron in drinking water, even for wells" <<<<<<-------The quote is not misleading and correct as you both viewed super high iron particles on items pulled from backflow assemblies that had galvanized steel inlet and outlet as stated at the facility by me, the professional Plumbing Contractor State Certified and UF/TREEO/STATE authorized tester and repair expert for backflow assemblies in Florida.
"but remember the galvanized piping attached can cause severe levels of toxic iron if attached to dissimilar metals such as is happening in Hillsborough County, Florida and KILLER LEVELS OF IRON are feeding schools when galvanized pipe is attached to brass assemblies and fittings creating a nightmare under color of law or authority by Inspectors and Officials NOT CHECKING WITH MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS OR GENERAL CONTRACTORS PLUS SPECIALISTS WHO KNOW NOT TO ALLOW DISSIMILAR METALS WITH POTABLE WATER ! See Hemochromatosis and Hereditary Hemochromatosis."
SUCH TRUTH REPORTED SHOULD TRIGGER IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION AND ALSO REQUESTS FOR MY FIRM TO SHOW AREAS PROVEN !
Thank you for your reply Steve. IF a water sample comes in with SUPER HIGH IRON PERHAPS 20-200 TIMES THE ACCEPTABLE LIMITS FROM THE EPA OR DEP you and the facility know the acceptable EPA and DEP limits and right now drinking same water could indeed cause a serious problem as was stated by me and Ruth. I provided everyone with the EPA and DEP guidelines primary tap water and secondary perhaps WELL WATER allowable recognized standards acceptable for not only verification but to allow testing locally by THORNTON LABS since you can check the IRON level.
MAYBE YOU AND THORNTON LABS is not required to report the DEATH LEVEL ISSUE AND CONTAMINATION THREATENING HUMANS, ANIMALS AND PETS BUT RUTH AND I HAVE A DUTY AND OBLIGATION TO PREVENT KILLING OF ANYONE OR SUPER DANGERS WHICH COULD KILL WHEN BUILDING COMPONENTS SHATTER AND FLOOD AREAS WHERE HUMANS CANNOT ESCAPE AND MY BE KILLED !
TO ME AS A FORMER LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND COMMISSIONED BY THE GOVERNOR OF FLORIDA, THE CITY AND COUNTY HAVE CREATED A KILLING FIELD UNDER COLOR OF LAW OR AUTHORITY, WHICH MUST BE CONFIRMED AND STOPPED AT ALL COSTS !
RUTH AND I ARE THE LICENSED PROFESSIONAL WHISTLEBLOWER'S WHO REPORTED THE KILLER UNLEASHED IN THIS COUNTY.
PROVE US WRONG, EVEN PERHAPS SEEK TO BRING LEGAL ACTION TO ENFORCE REMOVAL OF THESE THOUSANDS OF CONNECTIONS WHICH ARE GOING TO ENDANGER PEOPLE AND BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES.......PROVE US WRONG BUT CALL FOR INVESTIGATION AND CONFIRMATION. Ruth and I will be available to GO TO WEST TAMPA ELEMENTARY OR DALE MABRY ELEMENTARY to prove you are killing the CHILDREN'S ORGANS WITH TOXIC IRON RIGHT THIS MOMENT !
Others will check with their LABS to see if they can do the IRON TEST and my concern would be that those desiring to have YOUR LAB test the water would be given some guidelines on how to capture well water, where and place in what for best results PLUS time for shipping to the Lab or bringing to the lab to get the best results. I used to buy the WATER TEST up near Fowler and 30TH STREET where they checked WELL WATER for E-Coli annually but this TOXIC IRON test must have a special container or similar sealed item like a ZIP LOCK BAG to draw water from Test Cock 1, 2, 3, 4 on a backflow assembly or from INSIDE faucets without RUNNING OUT ALL WATER AND TOXIC IRON when the water comes out brown. Classic example is in a home when you first turn on the hot or cold water and the water is BROWNISH in a white sink or stainless sink....normally one would RUN THE WATER UNTIL CLEAR then draw water for cooking or coffee. Such may hide the deadly Toxic Iron and when pipes leak or shatter one might look deeper at the galvanized piping problem.
To me it is UP to the School Board and Officials to check each and every school visually with a magnet to confirm the galvanized piping is NOT ATTACHED TO BRASS BACKFLOW ASSEMBLIES INLET AND OUTLET LINES WITH OR WITHOUT DIELECTRIC UNIONS as placed in BOCC Ordinance 03-6 Appendix B plus someone has to realize the CITY INSPECTORS WERE WRONG IN THEIR ASSUMPTION THE PLUMBING CODE SECTION QUOTED BY ONE INSPECTOR ONLY APPLIED TO COPPER TUBING.....NOT GALVANIZED PIPE DIRECT TO BRASS BACKFLOW ASSEMBLIES OR BRASS SHUTOFF'S.
Ruth and I offered to go to any reported problem Elementary School with Officials and Inspectors which can be video taped and audio taped then the results or super high toxic rust/iron captured in 5 minutes loss of water pressure to the school would allow the EXPERTS to take white cloths with toxic iron to your facility to be tested and level should be 20-200 or more higher than EPA and DEP allowances like shown in photos indicating a serious problem. I showed you Steve the items from inside backflow assemblies retrieved and held to show people the serious toxic level of Iron in the water. It is ODD that this KILLER is not being looked into by Officials who have that official solemn duty to protect these children and adults plus stop destruction of homes and buildings CAUSED by errors created by Officials, under color of law or authority, giving IMPROPER INSTRUCTIONS AND CLEARANCE TO ATTACH GALVANIZED PIPE TO BRASS AS A DISSIMILAR METAL WILL CREAT TOXIC IRON PLUS DESTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS FROM FRACTURING PIPING DUE TO THEIR ERRORS, NOT MINE !
![]() All of the above pictures should have NO RUST OR IRON and be super clean. Check
YOUR OWN OFFICE SUPPLY TO SINKS AND WATER FOUNTAINS WITH A MAGNET.
Will keep you in any loop as your knowledge of ACCEPTABLE IRON LEVELS was the issue plus I provided what we found on the Internet supporting same as you were so kind to indicate there are acceptable IRON levels primary and secondary UNDER EPA AND DEP GUIDELINES.
Remember the dangerous problem also includes fracturing or failure of water piping due to super rust deterioration and flooding even in residents where water could cause electrical shock killing people in work areas without ground fault circuits which kill the power at shorts. Like leaving a faulty extension cord with holes or bare wire on floor when water floods a room......ZAP !
I showed you both the super toxic iron making bright stainless components DARK BROWN and Black Plastic Components DARK BROWN plus the rubber seals DARK BROWN COVERING indicates super toxic levels of Iron in the potable water. Well casing and piping attached to brass is a similar problem for wells and visualization provided from the American Indian unit who received the EPA AND DEP references to have their own water tested immediately. To me WATER POTABLE being given to public, students, faculty that may be 20-200 times higher than EPA or DEP indicates is safe for human consumption MIGHT BE SOMETHING TO VERIFY IMMEDIATELY AND CORRECT. The correction is so very simple and takes perhaps 1 hour to shut down water to any school or facility, even Federal, State, County, Municipal buildings, totally removing not only all GALVANIZED PIPING BUT ALL ASSEMBLIES CONTAMINATED plus removing all nipples under sinks and water fountains with proper CPVC or PVC SCHEDULE 80 PLASTIC COMPONENTS AND THREADED FIP BALL VALVES INSIDE will also take less than 1 hour and can be done while the Inlet ASSEMBLY AND PIPING are removed. NO ONE HAS ASKED ABOUT METER CONNECTION BRASS THROUGH ASSEMBLY WITH BRASS AND BACK INTO PVC OR OTHER POLY PIPING OUTSIDE WHICH REMOVES THE TOXIC IRON !
SCHOOLS SHOULD BE CHECKED INSIDE AND OUTSIDE SINCE TWO ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS ARE VERIFIED CREATING TOXIC IRON IN POTABLE WATER AND NO ONE CARES ? THE PARENTS AND CHILDREN SHOULD BE INFORMED OF THIS DANGER IMMEDIATELY.

Subject: RE: Message from Sandra Thomas re: Drinking water in peril Good Morning Ralph, Thank you for informing Thornton Laboratories yesterday regarding your concern about the potential introduction of iron into drinking water systems due to the use of dissimilar metals, i.e. galvanized pipe and brass fittings, in water systems. Please understand we are not experts regarding iron toxicity and have never claimed to be. We are an analytical testing lab. We understand, the USEPA Drinking Water Secondary Standard for iron as a contaminant is 0.3 mg/L (ppm). The National Secondary Drinking Water Standards are non-enforceable guidelines regulating contaminants that may cause cosmetic or aesthetic effects in drinking water. Iron toxicity is a medical issue and Thornton Lab has never stated or has any knowledge of a health risk of iron toxicity in drinking water. Please confer with us first before attributing any statement/quote in your dialogue as from Thornton Laboratories Testing & Inspection Services, Inc.. Thank you. Regards, Steve Fickett Thornton Laboratories Testing & Inspection Services, Inc. Office (813) 223-9702 1145 East Cass Street Tampa, FL 33602
