Hello to All,

I contacted Meditech re the inquiry of extending the length of GL component fields. This is Meditech’s Joe LaRochelle answer:

This can only be done through a GL Structure conversion. This would be something that should be viewed as a more global, one shot chance at changing your structure. It is a very involved project that would need to be priced by our programmers. The prices last I saw were $50,000, however, I do not have authorization for determining that. A Programmer Supervisor would price it. Please let me know if you have more interest in discussing. Thanks

From what I get out of Meditech’s response is that as a general rule, the GL structure is determined at the time of implementation. If your facility wants to explore further, you need to work directly with Meditech.
