Role : SYBASE DBA 

Location : Princeton , NJ

Duration: Long term

Rates:$60/hr on C2C max.

Technical Skills:  

• Experience with RDBMS Databases Sybase IQ,  ASE ( v10, 12 15.x) and ASA running on Solaris, Linux and Windows.

• Experience with Data replication using Sybase Replication.

• Experience in automation & orchestration with Shell programming

• Sybase IQ, ASE, REPLICATION SERVER. Knowledge of other database are plus

• Oversight of day to day service delivery

• Provide guidance and assistance on major Incident (MI)  calls

• Provide Sybase institutional knowledge to assist vendor

• Business continuity planning and DR test collaboration

• Perform change control review and assist in planning as needed

• Work with the service provider and develop annual lifecycle plan and set pace and schedule

• Oversee /work large scale patching

• Monitoring of vendor supplied capacity analysis; participation in strategic planning based upon capacity forecasts

• Participate with Solutions and Architecture for new services

• Maintaining currency of domain knowledge

• Approve relevant Procedures Manual content

• Gather and provide knowledge transfer to teams for Sybase RDBMS and replication

• Analyze operating system, network, and database, software application logs to troubleshoot application slowness issues and provide production support.

• Responsible for configuration, monitoring, performance tuning of software-engineered applications, backup & recovery of the databases.

• Experience with working on Very Large Databases

• Analyze, debug and troubleshoot software application performance issues and develop solutions

• Write and test UNIX shell scripts, PowerShell and SQL scripts for software application/database monitoring and troubleshooting.
