What I'm wondering is how sensitive this ecosystem is to trauma.
Scientists were surprised at how quickly the animals and wildlife were
able to recover after Mt. St. Helens erupted; will all of the
assistance provided to the gulf be enough to allow the ecosystem to do
the same? Or will all of the deeper issues show up in the years to
come as more damage than we anticipated? Will this accident follow
similar patterns to similar instances?
