Hi. I would love some information about getting started with writing plugins for Aperture. My question is very similar to the one posed on 21 March 2011 by Ingve Moss Liknes (found in the archives).

I have downloaded the Aperture SDK 2.1, and I am running the lastest XCode from the app store, and also have the lastest aperture from the app store.

The install of the sdk indicates that the install puts templates into my XCode installation, however I am unable to find any when I'm starting a new project. I'm skeptical that the 2.1 SDK is the correct SDK for Aperture 3, as well as the timestamp on the SDK being from 2008. Ingve also mentions he was told to use the FxPlug SDK but that looks like its for FinalCut, with no mention of Aperture at all.

Having said that I have installed the FxPlug SDK 2.0 but still no templates in XCode to get me started.

Thankyou in advance
Matt

I also did not find any templates. I would recommend using one of Apple's sample projects to get started.

I believe it is because Xcode 4 changed the way templates work.

It works fine in Xcode 3, but this is not an option if you run Lion.

You also don't need to use a template. Just look at one of the sample
projects, the info.plist, and the code, and you can make one from
scratch. I also start from scratch so I know what's going on.

It would be nice if out of the box the aperture sdk was updated to run in the latest tools. The sdk installer is problematic in older systems and versions of xcode as well
