Nice to see that the much needed survey on poaching is being taken up by CWS. I shall circulate to a  few interested persons who can contribute.

I hope the survey will lead to some concrete steps being initiated yo protect not only the wild animals, but their habitat as well.

Hunting and wildlife trade is pushing threatened species like pangolins to the brink of extinction. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the potential role of hunting, wild meat consumption, and wildlife trade in contributing to the spread of novel zoonotic diseases from wildlife to humans has become well recognized. Several species of wildlife are widely hunted and consumed across India. 

This survey conducted by the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS), Bengaluru, India aims to understand the scale and extent of hunting, wildlife trade and wild meat consumption across India, and to assess their impacts on various species. Please complete this survey to the best of your knowledge, it should take not more than 10 minutes. Any information provided in this survey will be completely confidential and shall only be used for our research. You are not required to fill in any personal information. You may also choose not to answer any/some questions that you wish. This study has received ethics clearance from a review committee.
