please find attached the RAC call notes from today.

You can take this email already as start of an open discussion what we gonna do about the inactivity within our group. Please help make this discussion a success this time; we want you to be involved in the way you work best, but we all need to share our thoughts and on this therefore. Also this will not happen when we don’t put any work into it. So everyone has to make this decision for her-/himself soon again.

Alexey forgot to mention it, but he is also the APECS rep on that ASSW 2011 Planning Committee.

Its difficult to figure out how to make these groups work - especially when they are so big and people don't always understand their role within them or how important their contributions are, even if they seem small... together they add up to quite a great thing... APECS started as a google group :)  It would be great if some of the other working groups within the RAC were moving forward. I see a lot of names on those lists of people I know are quite talented - I think all it takes is for one of them to send an email to the others with some ideas on how to move it forward, and then ideas and energy will grow.

Lastly, the email groups - This was an idea of Rosa's quite some time ago, and I am happy to say that we now have the capability to do such things. I already have a request and am in the process of setting up a policy group - and 2 people to lead it... neither of them are RAC or Council members by the way. 

If you want a list created for your discipline/topic/region/whatever and are prepared to get it up and running and occasionally feed it some information; Send me the name of the email address you want: what...@apecs.is and a 1 paragraph description of what the email group is about and what you hope to communicate through the group. I will then create the mailing list, give you as the DC/originator of the idea admin rights. I can also give you the latest APECS database where you can sort out people from the various disciplines etc that you want to invite to the group and then you can email them to join... or we can just create the group and send an email to all members to join - however you want to do it.  I think these lists are a good way to see who else is out there and is interested in doing stuff... at least its a start.

Hopefully more people will join the next call. Thank you to Ivan for chairing, Daniela for hosting and to all of you who attended.
