DC Meeting  Oslo 2010-05-26

 

Hello all APECS members and participants of the IPY Oslo Science conference!

 

This is the largest polar conference ever – and it will be amazing to get the chance to meet so many new polar scientists. But how do you get to know researchers from your research discipline, e.g. from other parts of the world, other than during presentations (of which you can only join a fairly limited amount anyways)?

 

The Research Activities Committee (RAC) of APECS facilitates a gathering to meet and exchange ideas with colleagues by disciplines. The Discipline Coordinators (DCs) of various research fields will gather their disciplines and facilitate a short discussion followed by in informal gathering.

What about you guys?

 

I hope I did not miss out on anybody? Some of you wanted to widen their discipline I think, correct? Please provide me with the correct name then for the disciplines that should be mentioned.

Please make any changes and send your feedback back to Alexey and me till Sunday the 30^th of May.

Then we will be able to send out a mass email by Monday next week.

 

We should also discuss details tonight during our call.

we kept in contact with Loic and seems like agreed to combine our meetings together, since we are focusing on almost the same stuff.

 

We could call it: Marine Systems or Marine Science.
