Hi,
I've been looking at the firmware files from VIA over the last few days, and one thing surprised me: The Android distributon flashed on the APC 8750 is in a tarball we can edit at will.
Apart from ading our own applications, does this mean that it would be pretty easy to flash an already rooted system?

I'm not sure what it takes, but if it is just changing the version of busybox and replacing a version of su on the system, it sounds feasible.
Does anybody know where to start? :D

Giving up, have had absolutely no luck with this. Even after being able to boot with a modified /bin/su in the busybox tar to be the one from superuser, I get a permission denied message when I try to run su from a terminal.

Hi,

Just to let you know that I spent a lot of  time on it too without any luck.
I'm thinking that if you/we want some interesting stuff for this board, we will have to write it from scratch...

I still have no time to experiment any new thing on it.

Regards,
Panda
