Hi all,

i got 615 of that password reset mails.

For me it's not a good sign that the company just close the forum without a date when it will come back.

Maybe the have no backups :-)

Hi,

I got plenty of it too.

But the disappointing thing is that it came in three steps :

- I posted a message saying my bad feeling about Via and Wondermedia, a few hours later the forum was spammed and unreadable.

- Then a couple of day later, the forum have been "cleaned" from the spam and my post vanished too.

- Then now, everything is down.

I don't know who is behind this forum, but my guess is that vanilla forum wasn't a good solution.

Hi Royal Panda,

this google thing was my idea - at weekend i sorted and muck out my email  which i have received during the week. had a closer look at this password reset mails and found more than 1000 email addresses in the CC field.
So I thought - users should deside if this APC project should keep alive or not - i have no trust in VIA/APC ... they even didn't support this project halfhearted.
I my eyes it has had a huge potential - but VIA/APC drop the ball. i think they did not know what market they are aiming - there is a way to make money with but not in this manner.

every 40 bucks tablet or phone have a more satisfying version of Android .... and my raspberry pi's linux is really doozy.

yes this vanilla forum is may be not the best solution .... but for a interim time it was the fastest for me - what do you suggest?

Greetings from Berlin, Germany

Mike

Hello Marcus,

Our forum was hacked so we have shut it down while we look for a more secure option. It should eb back up very soon.

We apologize for this.

Best regards,
Michael

I don't like vanilla but like with any piece of software exposed in the net to a wide audience keeping it updated is not an option.

Probably the apc.aio forum got an attack using this vulnerability:
As you can see above that was a known issue and a patch was released time ago.

However, switching off could be considered suspicious since it's happened immediately after Royal Panda, I and others have clearly pointed out our complaints against the apc/WonderMedia/Via policy.

Just after the forum cleanup from spam the thread started from Royal Panda was also deleted so I restarted another one on the very same subject and feeling... a minute later the apc forum was offline.

And this is not the first time the forum is down, without talking of spam and thread savaging deleted.

My opinion is that a forum without APC supervision would be a good thing, even if they re-up their own forum.
So, nice job Mr Herbst, and let see if there is anyone still interested by working with this board.
