Request for Volunteers
Apalachee Audubon
1st event:
When: On Saturday, March 18th from 9:00 to about 12:00
Volunteer drivers and birders with scopes are needed to help youngsters learn about birding!
Where: Pick up at South City at Orange Avenue and Country Club Drive; Travel to Lake Henrietta on Springhill Road
Who: Drivers to pick up kids in South City, take them to Lake Henrietta for birding, and bring them back home
and Birders with scopes: to meet us at Lake Henrietta, be prepared to help kids learn to use binoculars as well as look through scopes, help kids to identify birds
2nd event:
Helpers at the Tallahassee CARES Community Resource Expo to work at the AAS table in the I-Grow Community Garden
3rd event:
Date TBA: probably April 1st
Individual birders each to accompany two youngsters to go to certain neighborhoods in South City to collect data on the presence of urban birds; data will be submitted to the Cornell Labs of Ornithology
