Spouse staying at the hostel?

Mark Thomas graciously invited a few of the Tomcat mailing list
regulars to attend the Retreat. My wife will be accompanying me, since
neither of us have been to Ireland before, and we'll be staying until
the Saturday after the Retreat. Would she be able to stay at the
hostel during the Retreat (at our expense, of course), or should we
just plan on getting a room somewhere nearby? (Having disavowed her
ten years of experience as a systems programmer to become a technical
writer, she will not be attending the Retreat events, at least not any
related to writing code.)

If we do stay outside the hostel, should I still reserve a ticket on
Eventbrite?
