Role: Data Base Engineer

 

The Database Engineer l will be responsible for:

·         Performing day-to-day monitoring of data-pipeline components; monitoring databases for human-fault, logging issues, breaches, etc.

·         Working diligently to resolve data-related issues; ensure the mass accessibility of databases and other tools.

·         Supporting the team to work with the business and product teams to understand and clarify business data requirements, identify data needs, data sources.

·         Collaborating with infrastructure and cloud engineering team to determine design components; assess for feasibility.

·         Acting as a resource to stakeholders regarding data related concerns; when appropriate, offer database engineering expertise, when appropriate.

 

Required Qualifications 

·         6+ years of experience in database engineering, data management, database administration; experience managing technical personnel

·         Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, Postgres, InfluxDB, Neo4j, etc.)

·         Experience with cloud computing technologies, Hadoop ecosystem and workflow management tools such as Luigi and Airflow

·         Understanding of multiple programming languages, including at least one front end framework (Angular/React/Vue), such as Python3, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Golang, C, C++, etc. 

 

Desired Qualifications

·         Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, Postgres, InfluxDB, Neo4j, etc.)

·         Understanding of the banking industry, specifically the functions of custodial and consumer banking

·         Experience with cloud computing technologies, Hadoop ecosystem and workflow management tools such as Luigi and Airflow

·         Experience with agile development methodology

·         Experience with CICD pipeline (CircleCI, Jenkins, or equivalent)

·         Experience with Elastic Stack or any other front-end development tools
