We're looking forward to the start of the Euro 2024 qualifiers, when Northern Ireland take on San Marino on Thursday night. Here's some information which we hope you'll find helpful. Please share it with your friends, especially the details of how to book matchday transport. 

𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟 

We know that many of you will have been to San Marino before, with the majority flying into Bologna. 

If you're doing that, then you have the option of taking a train onto Rimini or there's a shuttle bus. 

The bus leaves from the airport and drops at Rimini Train Station. It's important to note that the departure times are quite infrequent during the day and can be up to two and a half hours apart. We've included the timetable in one of our images on the post. 

The shuttle bus costs €25 one way, or €45 return. The Irish FA have managed to secure a €5 discount which you can use when booking. Use the discount code UEFA2024 when booking. The link is here

If you're taking the train, the good news is that connecting from the airport to Bologna Centrale station is now much easier. 

The 'Marconi Express' monorail service operates every 7-15 minutes depending on the time time of day, from 5:40am until midnight. The journey takes around eight minutes. 

You can buy your tickets online, from vending machines or by tapping your contactless card or device at the gate, in the same way you would if you’ve ever used the London Underground. 

Remember to validate your paper or online ticket at the gate before boarding. The cost for a ticket is €11 single or €20 return. 

On arrival in Bologna airport, proceed to the upper level in the terminal where there are signs for the Marconi Express shuttle train (also accessible from ground level via the footpath). 

Trains between Bologna and Rimini are also infrequent, so plan ahead. Fares vary, as do journey times but you can see the timetable and fares here

𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 

Previous visitors to Rimini will know all about the Bounty and the Rose and Crown. 

Both are located near one another on the seafront. The Bounty can accommodate a very large number of fans and both serve food and drinks. 

You can eat for as little as €8.50, with sharing platters from €18. Burgers are from €13 and steaks start at €23. 

Beers start from €5.50 for a glass, €6 for a bottle or you can have 3 litres for €30;   

𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 

The Amalgamation and Irish FA have worked with the San Marino authorities and local bus company to have a shuttle bus service in place on matchday. 

The service will operate from Piazza Alberto Marvelli, which is a short walk from the Bounty and Rose and Crown. 

The price is €20 and this will take you to the stadium and back. This will operate every thirty minutes from 5pm until 7:30pm. 

𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱. 

During the day, you can travel from Rimini to San Marino. You can then use your ticket to take you to the stadium and back to Rimini or San Marino after the match.  

If you choose to pay when boarding rather than pre booking, you'll only be able to pay by cash. Pre booked passengers will also receive priority boarding ahead of fans who are paying when getting onto the bus.

𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗥𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗦 

The authorities have advised us that alcohol will be on sale outside the stadium. 

If you want to hang your flag inside the stadium, you'll need to wait until you get there for the match. Ask a steward for permission first. 

We're told that flags can't be put up on the perspex screen in front of our sector, please respect this!  

There are the usual security cordons at the stadium. Please be aware that items such as battery packs, mobile chargers and e-cigs may be taken from you. 

Photo ID may be requested, however we have agreement that a digital or printed copy will be accepted rather than original ID. 

Please take care of your passport! We're advised that it can take up to 48 hours for an Emergency Travel Document to be issued and requires a trip to Rome or Milan.
