To get to the city from the airport, the best options are bus or taxi. You can also consider booking a private transfer with Uber or similar.Β
The 783 bus operates 24 hours, seven days a week, with varying frequencies during the day and night.Β
It leaves from the ground floor outside the Arrivals terminal building, where you will also find both a ticket office and a ticket machine. A one-way ticket is quite cheap - less than one pound and you have to validate the travel card inside the bus. Drivers don't sell tickets.
A taxi from the airport to Bucharest should cost between RON 40 and RON 80 (Β£7-Β£14).
Licensed taxis can be found just outside the exit of the airport.Β
A few tips. Use the touch screen terminals located inside the airport (in the hall of the Arrivals terminal building) to order a taxi.Β
After getting the printed ticket with taxi details, go outside and wait for the car to arrive.Β
Agree the fare before the journey and make sure the metre is on. It's recommended to book a taxi through your hotel and be wary of people approaching you to offer taxi services.Β

Our friends in the Swiss Fans Embassy (they played there in November) recommend the Strada Εelari area of the city. Fans who travelled in 2014 may remember this area, as it's very close to the Europa Royale Hotel where tickets had to be collected on that occasion.Β
You can eat for Β£5-Β£7 and beers are usually priced from Β£2.50 upwards.
You should be wary of pickpockets in public spaces and also be careful of strangers who join your company. There were a couple of incidents in Slovenia, and this is common in Bucharest.Β

The local authorities recommend that Northern Ireland fans go to the University's Square (PiaΘa UniversitΔΘii) area on matchday.Β
It's against the law to drink in public places, other than licensed premises, so bear this in mind as we don't know what the attitude of the police will be.
You can get to the stadium by any of the following means of transport.

Northern Ireland fans are in Block 125, using Entrance H.
Tickets can be scanned off a phone, or you can bring a printed copy. Make sure your phone screen isn't damaged and that your phone has plenty of battery!
Food and drinks are on sale inside the stadium, and you can pay by cash or card. You can't bring alcohol into the stadium bowl. You'll need to drink up on the concourse!Β
The match kicks off at 21:45, and the stadium opens two hours before that. We're told it's cold enough out there, so wrap yourself up!Β
