BELARUS VISA INFORMATION

As usual, we'll be providing travel information to fans prior to our two away games in June through our Northern Ireland Fans Embassy.

Before that, we want to share some information about the Visa situation for Belarus.

ENTERING BELARUS VIA MINSK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Holders of UK or Irish passports who fly into Minsk International airport (unless flying via Russia) will not require a visa however they will need:

A minimum of 3 months validity left on your Passport.

Proof of funds for your time in Belarus. This is a minimum of 25 Euro a day and can be cash, credit cards or travellers cheques in any currency.

Documentary evidence of medical insurance to the value of 10,000 Euro that covers you in Belarus. This can be included in your travel insurance.

A plane ticket showing how and when you intend to leave Belarus.

ENTERING BELARUS VIA THE LAND BORDERS OF LATVIA, LITHUANIA, POLAND OR UKRAINE

Holders of UK or Irish passports who intend to enter Belarus via one of the above land borders will require a Belarussian short term visa.

Details of how to obtain this are in the following section.

OBTAINING A SHORT-TERM BELARUSIAN VISA

Belarussian Visas cost 60 Euro for an individual and take 5 working days to process. In order to receive a visa you must submit the following documents to the Belarussian Embassy:

A completed visa application form, which can be downloaded.

1 Passport photo.

Supporting documentation – a Letter of Invitation from the hotel or accommodation host where you are staying.

Documentary evidence of medical insurance to the value of 10,000 Euro that will cover you when you are in Belarus.

Your passport, with a minimum of 3 months validity left on it.

The address for posting your visa application is Embassy of Belarus, 6 Kensington Court, London, W8 5DL.

Note that the embassy will be closed on the 1, 6, 7, 8 & 9 May so applications during this time will be delayed.

STAYING IN BELARUS FOR MORE THAN 5 DAYS?

If your travel arrangements mean that you are staying in Belarus for more than 5 days then you must register at one of the internal affairs offices. Your host/hotel is responsible for making sure you do this.

ENTERING BELARUS VIA RUSSIA

It is illegal to enter or leave Belarus via a Russian land border.

If you intend to enter Belarus via a connection flight from any Russian airport, *EVEN IF YOU ARE SIMPLY CONNECTING AND DON'T LEAVE THE AIRPORT*, you will need to obtain a RUSSIAN visa. There is no way round this. This equally applies if your homeward journey involves travelling via Russia.

Unfortunately Russian Visas now have to be applied for in person at a Visa application centre, which are located in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. The turnaround is said to be 4 weeks for RUSSIAN Visas.
