Hello Everyone,

I have finally managed to install AoLserver 4.5.1 on my FC10 box. This
system is on LAN, and i managing the system over the LAN (not directly
logging to the system).

For, Aolserver to work, i had to recompile Tcl / Tk 8.5 along with Tix
8.4 and also reinstall Python 2.6.2 in their respective directories in
/opt

Now, when i go to /opt/aolserver451 and give the command bin/nsd -ft
nsd.tcl ... i get this error.

[root@mi aolserver451]# bin/nsd -ft nsd.tcl
[21/Oct/2009:16:49:53][2337.3086314240][-main-] Error: dns:
getaddrinfo failed for mi.milinux: Name or service not known
[21/Oct/2009:16:49:53][2337.3086314240][-main-] Fatal: nsmain: server
will not run as root; must specify '-u username' parameter
[root@mi aolserver451]#

what am i not doing here ?

Nitin

You need an entry in your /etc/hosts file for "mi.milinux" with the
machine's IP address.

This message is self-explanatory. AOLserver drops its privileges to a
non-root user and you need to explicitly specify which user when
executing it.
