US-VA- QA / Testing Analyst Manual Testing a Visual C++ GUI front-end

This position is currently focused on manual testing of a Visual C++ GUI
front-end of an n-tier Call Center desktop application.
Daily tasks:
Formulate test scenarios based upon Business Requirements and create Master
Test Plans. Work with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to review their detailed
test plans and provide input on ways to improve or change the plans.
Coordinate test data requests. Act as a liaison between developers and UAT
to communicate critical areas to be tested. Be able to interpret
requirements and ask questions when necessary to complete writing of test
plan. Lead effort to evaluate a project's contents, provide testing effort
estimate, and stick to estimate completing project on time. Perform system,
regression and integration tests to ensure project meets end-user
requirements and does not adversely affect current functionality of the
system. Role expected to evolve into use of automation to address functional
testing needs.
Required Skills:
· Ability to conduct a wide range of quality-control tests and analyses with
full competency to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards
and end-user requirements.
· Ability to execute more complex tests according to established plans and
scripts, documents problems in an issue log and in defect tracker (such as
ClearQuest) and re-tests software corrections to ensure problems are
resolved.
· Drafts and revises more complex test plans
· 2+ years TestDirector experience
· 3+ years practical experience with QA processes and methodologies (IEEE,
CMM, etc.)
· Identifies recommends and implements changes to enhance the effectiveness
of quality assurance strategies.
· Exposure to GUI development environment
· Knowledge of development life cycle Preferred:
· 2+ years experience with Test Director 7.0 and Mercury Test Suite 6.5
· Knowledge of Visual C++
