Skills:

Required Technical Skills:

Four plus years relevant experience required. Sun Solaris and HP/UX System
Administration. Weblogic and iPlanet Administration. Shell scripting
experience.

Desires Technical Skills:

College degree and professional certifications preferred. HP OmniBack
experience.

Interpersonal Skills:

Communicates clearly and openly. Expresses ideas and exchanges information
clearly. Treats others with respect. Builds open, considerate and productive
working relationships with people. Collaborates with others. Can communicate
technical issues to non-technical people. Pursues mutual goals through
coordination and involvement with others.

Technologies Utilized:

Hardware: Sun/HP/Compaq

Languages: AWK, PERL

O/S: Solaris 2.6, 8/HPUX

DBMS: Oracle

Utilities: Standard Unix

Application of Technical Skills:

Performs server builds, configuration management, software deployment,
change management, performance monitoring, and system maintenance for
E-Commerce applications, and backend systems. Provides on-call and project
support. Communicates, escalates and resolves problems in the integration,
staging and production environments. Researches production problems to
identify root cause analysis, and initiates corrective actions to improve
overall quality and system reliability. Coordinates activities with
customers and other support groups. Communicates with stakeholders regarding
system initiatives and system events.

Day-to-day Tasks:

Perform Unix system administration in a E-Commerce environment. Perform
application monitoring. Attend department meetings. Attend project team
meetings and perform tasks related to a project. Communicate with team
members, business customers and other stakeholders. Perform primary on-call
duties/24 hour support on a rotating basis. Perform all tasks within the
current problem, change or incident management guidelines and procedures.

Most Technically Challenging Task:

Root cause analysis and developing monitoring solutions to prevent
incidents. Installation and configuration of new application servers.
