POSITION DISCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Foreign Exchange Options group performs Sales and Trading of currency
derivative products in the Canadian and International marketplaces. As
such, the Business Analyst will be responsible for formalizing the needs and
wants of the business and presenting them to the system development team.
The primary function will be to support and expand a custom application for
pricing FX options.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a detailed understanding of the Foreign Exchange Options business.
Gather requirements from front, middle and back offices for ongoing
application development.
Actively participate in new project activities including the definition of
business requirements, design, and implementation.
Coordinate with the Technical Lead in prioritizing development.
Assist in developing user and technical documentation.
Assist in training and testing initiatives.
Assist in bug identification and resolution.
Provide problem solving, troubleshooting and consulting services.
Develop effective working relationships with several, often cross-purpose
groups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An undergraduate degree in finance, business, or operations management.
Five years experience in institutional trading (Front, Middle or Back
Office).
Must have an advanced understanding of financial derivatives and related
math skills.
Technology background with strong systems development/implementation skills.
Familiarity with object oriented development methodology, Rapid Development
Process, and ISDM.
Highly analytical with strong leadership, consulting and problem solving
ability.
Focused, results-oriented individual with ability to multi-task and work
under pressure.
A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Diplomatic, won't back down, avoids unnecessary confrontation.
Experience with implementing complex system applications.
Competence with information technology and productivity tools, including MS
Office, Project, Visio, bug tracking software, etc.
