Job Title: Solution Engineer
Salary: Based on experience
Location: Columbus, OH
Responsibilities:
· Provide primary senior level presales support in the assigned region for
business resumption services (Continuity), Data mirroring, Data replication,
Managed Hosting and professional services engagements.
· Engineer & recommend solutions for business resumption services, Data
mirroring, Data replication, Managed Hosting and professional services for
subscribers and prospects.
· Develop and generate comprehensive "Statement of Work" (SOW's) and pricing
attachments for business resumption services, Data mirroring, Data
replication, Managed Hosting and professional services.
· Propose and present business resumptions services, Data mirroring, Data
replication, Managed Hosting and professional services solutions at all
levels.
· Manage and prioritize the regional sales opportunities and goals.
· Develop and maintain a professional business relationship with clients and
other SAS & SDS Business units.
· Manage the successful solution turnover to operations staff
· Keep abreast of emerging IT technologies such as; (networking,
communications, system hardware technologies, Business Continuity concepts,
Professional Services, data mirroring, data replication and managed
hosting).
· Manage the successful delivery of effectively priced professional
services; (Technology Profile; BIA; Plan Strategy; Business and Technology
recovery plan and Test Management).
· Develop and price comprehensive statement of work for; (Technology
Profile; BIA; Plan Strategy; Business and Technology recovery plan and Test
Management).
· Participate in reviewing engagement status and direction with project
management.
· Interact with clients data gathering and analysis activities as it relates
to; (Technology Profile; BIA; Plan Strategy; Business and Technology
recovery plan and Test Management).
· Provide senior level technical consultant support to other Availability

Requirements:
· Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related Bachelors Degree or
work equivalent.
· Minimum of 3 years in technical services or sales support role with
preference of a min 2yrs experience in a Managed Services or consulting
environment.
· General knowledge of IT to include processing, disk, tape, network,
database, and SAN & NAS technologies; also basic backup and recovery
concepts/technologies
· Knowledge of replication technologies/concepts (Data Mirroring/Data
Replication)
· Able to handle a fast paced environment and continuously re-prioritize
while maintaining a constant focus on closing deals
· Able to operate independently with little supervision and build good
relationships
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent presentation skills
· Excellent Project Management skills with the ability to prioritize
multiple projects
· Knowledge of Operating Systems hardware and protocols
· Knowledge of inter-exchange and local carrier offerings
· Proficient in various communication environments and of emerging
technologies
· Working knowledge of EIA, CCITT & associated electronic interface
standards
· Knowledge of transmission media including: Frame Relay, ATM, Sonet,
Inverse Multiplexing and Satellite
· Must be able to work with business partners and other vendors to ensure
accurate delivery of solutions.
· Proficient in the use of PC platforms and Software
· Knowledge of at least 6 industry (i.e. Sun, HP, IBM) system platforms
· Completion of at least 3 industry certified training programs
· Advanced planning & engineering skills in either Network or Operating
Systems hardware. Emphasis on traffic characteristics, connectivity,
availability, reliability, maintainability, and expendability would be a
plus.
