Battelle, a world leader in contract research and professional services, has an opportunity for a
Test Engineer in our headquarters in Columbus, OH.
Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics; experience with computer
applications such as spreadsheets, design, and analysis; min. 5 years' experience with
instrumentation, data collection, test fixture design, and destructive/nondestructive testing;
ability to communicate effectively in written reports, correspondence, and in oral presentations;
good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a small or large multidisciplinary teams of
both internal and outside organizations, and the desire to work with a team toward a common goal.
Master's degree, and exp. in some aspect of design process is desirable. Applicant selected will be
subject to a govt. security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to
classified information.
Responsibilities include the design of mechanical and electro-mechanical test equipment, and design
and set-up of instrumentation and data collection systems to meet the needs of a large DOD
development program; duties may include conceptualization, requirements of definition, fabrication,
systems integration, field installation, troubleshooting , and other activities related to the
delivery of reliable hardware for challenging and diverse environments; will work in a small and/or
large multidisciplinary team toward a team goal. Areas served include avionics and electronics,
underwater equipment, chemical defense, personal equipment and others.
