FCG Management Services (FCGMS) is the outsourcing subsidiary of First Consulting Group. We currently have a position available for a LAN/Desktop Support Engineer.

We currently have a need for a LAN/Desktop Support Engineer to be located at the New York Blood Center in New York City. Summary of Skills:
• Superb communication, documentation, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Highly motivated
• Fluency in desktop and laptop hardware market/industry standards
• Experience with PC vendor relationship management
• Experienced in Novell and Microsoft server and desktop support
• Ability to lead groups of up to 5 for projects

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years total IT experience. The successful candidate will possess knowledge and expertise in IT Desktop, Server and Infrastructure support functions. Healthcare experience is desired. Candidates are required to have strong Microsoft applications skills, excellent communications skills, project management experience, and strong organization skills.

Day to day duties include managing the daily operations of the Help Desk and Desktop Support group. Responsibilities will vary from 2nd level desktop support to updating hardware standards as well as managing relevant projects. Candidates should have a broad understanding of IS applications and technologies, have excellent communications skills both written and verbal, be responsive, and be organized.

Responsibilities:
• Easily accessible to end users for regular and ad hoc meetings
• Represent IS at Core Meeting to provide IS project status and updates
• Represent IS at Downtime meetings to coordinate IS requested downtime and review past downtime incidents
• Work with department heads the Customer Support Manager and CIO on new project requests to understand the department requirements
• Coordinate making sure the appropriate IS staff are involved in the detail planning for projects
• Work with end users and appropriate IS staff in evaluating vendor products
users in understanding projects, planned changes, etc.
• Evaluate existing systems, services, and procedures and make recommendations for implementation of new and improved systems, services and procedures

Candidates will be required to travel to the various Site locations throughout Manhattan, New Jersey, Long Island and Hudson Valley.

These are non-consulting, locally based positions. Individuals will work out of the New York Blood Center. Travel is not required.
