Description: Description: This is a Sr. staff position within the Business Support Systems Architecture team reporting to the Sr. Director OSS/Provisioning Planning. The individual will collaborate with product teams, operations personnel, product managers, and strategic partners to define provisioning requirements; design cost-effective, comprehensive solutions that meet functional and performance needs; document and articulate system requirements and designs. Major duties: · Analysis of existing business systems and technologies; plan and design new or upgraded software and hardware systems; analysis of specific system elements, such as system software, components transactions, and processes, with recommendations for appropriate changes; design new or upgraded systems or applications to improve system performance; plan and design new/upgraded/replacement system components; conduct regular testing and analysis of critical corporate systems and facilities to ensure proper operation. · Perform analysis of overall business information transactions; specify performance requirements; plan, design and engineer system to satisfy those requirements. · Assist with providing specifications for cost-effective system configurations · Other duties as assigned

· BS/MS in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent work experience in software systems design
· At least 3 years experience in software development with architectural experience and responsibilities, and 5 years total software development experience
· Experience mapping business requirements to technology capabilities, identifying gaps and omissions, and designing end-to-end solutions
· Experience delivering medium to large-scale distributed applications into production, and an excellent understanding of the issues involved
· Creative, self-motivated team player willing to take the lead to develop cutting-edge e-business solutions
· Clear and effective verbal and written communications skills
· Strong interpersonal skills; capable of writing recommendations, RFP’s, and interacting with company personnel on complex topics; make presentations to an internal audience.
· Must have strong, independent problem solving skills; must be self-directed.
· Strong working knowledge of the following technologies / products / methodologies:
- Major web servers, application servers, ASP/JSP and Servlets
- Object oriented design
- SDLC
- Distributed computing (CORBA, RMI)
- N-tier architectures
- Relational databases (i.e. Oracle, Sybase)
- ISP service activation (i.e. workflow systems, DHCP, TFTP, DNS)
- Experience with C/C++, Java, JSP, EJBs, HTML, XML
- Windows, Linux, and Solaris application development experience
- Application performance tuning experience
- TCP/IP and networking technologies and protocols
Preferred working knowledge of the following;
- Security principles (SSL, SET, etc), and use of firewalls, digital signatures, and certificates
- DOCSIS, PacketCable, CableHome, OSS/BSS, SNMP
