Description: ĚResponsible for the configuration, installation, maintenance, and operation of local area network products and services. This includes managing file servers, their operating systems and the network based software that resides on them.
ĚPerforms administrative functions for NT servers, including but not limited to:- Creating and maintaining user profiles and passwords; granting and revoking access to applications, databases and system resources
-Creating and maintaining directory structures, print queues, password expiration, etců
ĚTroubleshoots and supports user connectivity, equipment, LAN/WAN network issues. Additional responsibilities may include training helpdesk personnel in first-line network and application troubleshooting techniques.
ĚEstablishes, enforces and monitors network security.
ĚMonitors network and server performance, maintains trend analysis data for capacity planning and network redesign purposes.
ĚManages projects, such as new installations, upgrades, migrations, relocations, and system/network integration.
ĚIdentifies, evaluates and recommends proven enhancements to existing products, services, and technologies.
ĚDevelops standards and maintains appropriate documentation for the networking environment. Establishes and maintains LAN/WAN policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications:
Strong analysis, design, and planning skills.
Strong communication (listening, speaking, writing and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
Good project management and analytical/problem solving skills.
Strong knowledge of Windows NT, Citrix Winframe, TCP/IP, Microsoft Exchange, and Windows 2000.
Four-year college degree and a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience with local area network hardware platforms, network protocols and topologies, as well as network management utilities. Certifications are a plus.
