Eaton Corporation - Automotive, in Marshall, MI, has an opening for a
Engineering Technologist IV/Sr. Engineering Technologist. Supervise the
day-to-day activities of the Mechanical Testing Department to achieve
requested test service results with emphasis on quality and timeliness of
completed activities. Frequent communication with Test Engineering for
resolving any technical issues that exceed capabilities residing within
the department. Communications include providing feedback on functionality
issues with any tester, participating in the reviews of any new test or
tester design and requesting test engineering services for support as
needed to achieve departmental objectives. Maintaining and reporting on
departmental metrics such as; budget, manpower utilization, equipment
uptime, productivity improvements and % on-time completion of work
requests. Provide training, cross training and coaching of technical
resources. Active participation in resource planning and hiring. Develop
test schedules, establish priorities and resolve conflicts. Manage the
work request system as it applies to the department. Participate in the
development and implementation of the new Work Request System. Assure
departmental compliance to existing quality and environmental systems and
participate in new quality/environmental initiatives. Review and
improve/re-write departmental procedures as required for clarity, accuracy
or compliance to quality system.
For the Engineering Technologist IV: Bachelor零 Degree in Engineering
Technology with 6 years of experience, or an Associate零 Degree or
equivalent certification with 12 years of experience, or 14 years of
related industrial experience.
For the Sr. Engineering Technologist: Bachelor零 degree in Engineering
Technology with 8 years experience, or an Associate零 Degree with 14 years
experience, or 16 years of related industrial experience. Previous
experience in supervision of technical resources is a sought after asset.
Familiarity with a testing environment including test procedures, test
fixtures, engines and quality systems. Good oral and written communication
skills. Computer literate with emphasis on MS office software.
