Urgent need for Unix administrator, Loc: Bridgeton, Missouri, Immediate Interviews !!
Role : UNIX ADMINISTRATOR
Location : Bridgeton, Missouri
Duration: Long term
Job Description:
Overall Purpose: Responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading UNIX based servers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1) Provide Microsoft Windows server(s) install, management, configuration and support in a critical production environment and to support 3rd party applications running on the windows server.
2) Provide Microsoft Windows Server operating system support and patch management for compliance.
3) Monitor and handle server tape backups, performance and availability in compliance to Service Level Agreements. Upgrade and replace server hardware and application where appropriate.
4) Knowledge and support of Windows Active Directory and Group policy. Upgrade and replace server hardware and application where appropriate.
5) Monitor daily tape backups and co-ordinate resolution or re-run of backups.
6) Basic Unix level support to create userids, fix permissions, monitor and maintain disk space usage, monitor, setup and support data transfer/feeds issues over network.
7) Work with IT, network and vendor(s) to open trouble tickets for issues.
