We are a financial firm who has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, team-focused Oracle Database Administrator
to join our Information Technology group. We currently use Oracle 9i and MySQL on Red Hat Linux and Microsoft SQL
Server on Windows 2000. We are in the process of migrating all of our data and code to Oracle on Linux.
.Ambassador for data integrity - responsibility for the automation of data injection, data maintenance, monitoring of
data and backups.
.Share 24/7 on-call rotation with other team members.
.End-user database application support for all in-house databases for end-users on various platforms (Linux, Windows and
Solaris).
.Perform resource and capacity planning for database systems.
.Design and maintain policies and procedures to ensure system availability, plus ke ep each system well tuned for
optimum performance.
.Work with our development team, research group and other members in IT to create and implement standards - data
formats, naming conventions and change control.
.Keep in touch with technological advances. Evaluate and recommend upgrades and new technologies as appropriate for the
firm.

.BS Computer Science/Engineering (Computer Science preferred)
.6+ years of hands-on Oracle 8.x/9.x Database Administration experience in a production, 24/7 environment.
.In-depth knowledge of SQL.
.Proficiency with UNIX (Linux) shell scripting and crons required.
.Strong skills with scripting languages such as SH/KSH/Bash, Perl, Awk.
.Working knowledge of at least one of the following database servers: MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server (preferred) and
PostgresSQL.
Other desired skills:
.BS Computer Science/Engineering (Computer Science preferred)
.6+ years of hands-on Oracle 8.x/9.x Database Administrati on experience in a production, 24/7 environment.
