Discovery/Configuration Admin

This is a role focused on managing the latest BMC Discovery utility to map the corporate infrastructure and manage the data that is collected within our Configuration Management DB. The role is a crucial part of our ITSM delivery team and would be working directly in the tool to manage both the collection and remediation of data and assist with our next generation of discovery requirements as we move towards more cloud based solutions.

Key Activities would include but not limited to;

• ADDM/Discovery Tool Administration
• Application and Service modeling
o Mapping infrastructure to applications
o Teaching ADDM to learn eBay's applications
• Atrium
• Discovery Job scheduling
o New discovery scope
• Data Remediation
• ADDM application updates of new definitions
• Interfacing with other platform owners
• User access management/Credentials
• Assuring compliance with data governance policies
• Defining and managing reporting capabilities
• Configuration Management Database Analysis
• Standards and Schedules for Service Catalogue updates
• Integration, normalization and reconciliation oversight
• Configuration Item Definitions
• SLA/OLA definitions
• Data Level curating - defining that each CI has an owner
• Application Mapping
o Orphaned Cis
o OS without a host
o Filling in the gaps for CI relationship gaps
• Use case definitions
o Understanding how CMDB can impact other business processes

Skill Set
• TPL Proficiency - language for writing patterns
• SQL Proficiency - ability to understand data schemas and write queries based on business problems
• Communication Skills - Identify and remediate gaps that are found in data and the process
• Basic Sys Admin with a focus on business acumen
