The
Secular Communities Survey is interested in secular, atheist, agnostic, humanist, freethinker, and nonreligious Americans. They want to understand their worldviews, their politics, the communities they form, and how they view religion. They also want to understand secular people’s values and the ways they try to live them. Because they’re fielding this survey during a pandemic, they also ask about COVID-19’s effects on secular community life. Most importantly, they hope to understand the nuanced differencesamongsecular and nonreligious people by tyring to understand them on their own terms. The research will be important for scholars of community life in the United States, and help members of secular and non-theistic communities gain a broader and deeper understanding of themselves.
We hope you'll participate and encourage members of your community to participate, too. Please follow this link (secularcommunities.com/community) to access the survey. It’s entirely anonymous and should take about 15-20 minutes to complete and will close Sunday, April 11.
Thank you in advance for your participation. If you have any questions, please email secular...@hfa.ucsb.edu.
