California Freethought Day - You're invited!

California Freethought Day, its annual secular festival, is less than a week away. "CFD" will happen at the legislative epicenter, the West steps of the State Capitol Building.

 

Join hundreds of supporters of secular rights, civic engagement, free speech, scientific achievement, and civic engagement on Sunday, October 6, from 11 – 5:30 at this entirely free day-long event. (It’s will also be livestreamed, for free, if you can’t go in person. 🎫 Register Here)

 

📢 Speakers from the event include Dr. Anthony Pinn, Rob Boston, Rachel Klinger Cain, Thomas Smith, Fish Stark, Kavin Senapathy, and CaptainDadPool, plus more!

 

🏆 In addition to scholarship winners, many people will be recognized at the event including CFI’s Jim Underdown and State Senator Susan Talamantes Eggman (CA 5).

 

⭐ With live music, a Freethinker Gallery, interactive Art exhibit, Freethought Recognition display, 25 community groups (including Planned Parenthood and the League of Women Voters), this is not an event to miss.

 

📅 Two other related events will occur this weekend:

• On Friday evening, actor John de Lancie (“Q” from Star Trek) will be performing in a radio play he co-wrote about the Dover Panda Trial, a federal court case about Creationism in public schools. Tickets for this are 50% off with this link.
• On Saturday evening, a Fundraising Reception is what makes Freethought Day free. The event includes a silent auction, special entertainment, open bar, yummy food, and the first chance to meet many of Sunday’s speakers in a small setting. Tickets for the fundraiser are $75 in advance. Learn more.
