Dear Kenneth,
For the past couple of months, two artists have been painting a mural on the outside of our building at CFI West in Los Angeles. When complete, we believe it may be the largest freethinker mural in the world.
The painting features twenty-three famous freethinkers from diverse places and different times in history and is modeled after Georges Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. We hope that the freethinkers featured—including Stephen Hawking, Marie Curie, Galileo Galilei and others—will inspire those who encounter the mural to be curious about the freethought movement and to learn more. (Accordingly, we plan to have a QR code on the mural that will take passersby to a website with additional information.)
We received a generous $15,000 grant to commission this work. However, due to increased costs for rentals and materials, we have exhausted those funds.
We need your help to finish this project! Can you make a gift today to help us close the $3,000 gap?
