Join us at California Freethought Day in-person or online!
California Freethought Day combines the fun and atmosphere of a fair with the education and activism of a conference.
 
It's a festival of freethought.

American Atheists is proud to sponsor this fun, free outdoor event to celebrate freedom of speech and thought, civic engagement, enthusiasm for science, social justice, and the separation of church and state.
 
This year's theme is “One Nation, Indivisible: Liberty and Justice for All” as event speakers unpack the rise of Christian nationalism and the current administration’s growing attacks on marginalized communities.
 
Speakers include Nick Fish, President of American Atheists, and Seth Andrews, a member of our Board of Directors. Check out the full schedule for a complete list of speakers, entertainment, and other fun activities. 
 
Want to mix and mingle with Nick, Seth, the other speakers, and the volunteers that make California Freethought Day happen? Attend the Supporter's Reception on Saturday evening at the Reason Center.

Registration is free, and the event is supported by donations and sponsorships. To officially register, click here!
 
In Person
Join like-minded people at the Capitol and visit with community groups, meet the speakers, enjoy a picnic on the grass, and more. Register today to get a free printed, full-color program and be eligible for $300 in door prizes. There are also options to pre-order a t-shirt or boxed lunch!

Watch the livestream via Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter/X. Registering for free will ensure you get reminders, a downloadable program, and links to watch the event.
 
Support California Freethought Day
You can make an additional donation when you register to support the event. For $25, enjoy snacks and drinks throughout the day, or for $75 attend the reception. or go all out and be a Champion of Freethought!
