Hi Everyone,
We should try to pull our weight on this one. I’m particularly interested in * Joining or starting local Fedora user groups….
Any other takers or proposals?

Subject: [fedora-leaders] CALL Fedora Interest Group Proposals for OR2017
Join us for the Fedora Interest Group sessions at Open Repositories 2017 [1] to meet other Fedora users and developers and share your experiences with one another. If you are new to Fedora you will find many opportunities to learn more about the repository software from your peers in the open source community.
This year’s Fedora Interest Group track will showcase presentations, panels, demonstrations, and project updates. Some of the central themes include:
* New Fedora production implementations
* Migrating from Fedora 3.x to Fedora 4.x
* Leveraging linked open data with LDP and PCDM
* Using Fedora to support research data
* Integrating Fedora into broader ecosystems
* Joining or starting local Fedora user groups
* Updates from the Hydra and Islandora communities
We are particularly interested to hear from members of the Australasian Fedora community - if you are adopting, implementing, or migrating to Fedora please submit a proposal for the Fedora Interest Group track. Likewise, if you are not yet considering Fedora for your project, please tell us about missing features or obstacles that are leading you in other directions. Learn more about the project by visiting the website [2], and join the Fedora Interest Group at Open Repositories to discuss Fedora with the project developers and stakeholders.
Important dates
20 November 2016: Deadline for proposal submissions [3]
10 February 2017: Submitters notified of acceptance to interest groups
26-30 June 2017: Conference program
For enquiries, please contact the Fedora Interest Group Chairs: Tom Murphy at tomurphy[at]umich.edu or David Wilcox at dwilcox[at]duraspace.org.
We look forward to seeing you at OR2017!

I am submitting an abstract to the main conference on incorporating repositories in research data publishing workflows. If it is not accepted for the main conference it will be suitable for the Fedora Interest Group sessions, Using Fedora to support research data or Integrating Fedora into broader ecosystems.
Maude.

Hi all. We’re thinking of putting in a paper from La Trobe about our enterprise research data management project and the new systems we’re implementing.
One of those is SIdora (Smithsonian Institution fedora), so if that’s not accepted, one of us could talk about this in a fedora interest group meeting (I’m not sure who will be attending at this point).
Cheers,
Simon
