Fragments are incomplete sentences. Usually, fragments are pieces of sentences that have become disconnected from the main clause. One of the easiest ways to correct them is to remove the period between the fragment and the main clause. Other kinds of punctuation may be needed for the newly combined sentence.

Below are some examples with the fragments shown in red. Punctuation and/or words added to make corrections are highlighted in blue. Notice that the fragment is frequently a dependent clause or long phrase that follows the main clause.

You may have noticed that newspaper and magazine journalists often use a dependent clause as a separate sentence when it follows clearly from the preceding main clause, as in the last example above. This is a conventional journalistic practice, often used for emphasis. For academic writing and other more formal writing situations, however, you should avoid such journalistic fragment sentences.

These last three examples of fragments with no subjects are also known as mixed constructions, that is, sentences constructed out of mixed parts. They start one way (often with a long prepositional phrase) but end with a regular predicate. Usually the object of the preposition (often a gerund, as in the last two examples) is intended as the subject of the sentence, so removing the preposition at the beginning is usually the easiest way to edit such errors.

Custom effects can be implemented by defining CSS styles for .fragment.effectname and .fragment.effectname.visible respectively. The visible class is added to each fragment as they are stepped through in the presentation.

By default fragments will be stepped through in the order that they appear in the DOM. This display order can be changed using the data-fragment-index attribute. Note that multiple elements can appear at the same index.

On one of my layer 3 switches, I am seeing one computer that keeps switching from 10mpbs to 1gbps. The switchport turns a dark orange color on the dashboard and reports "High rate of packet fragments" . This is a brand new computer and during the initial setup of this on another switch, I experienced none of this issue. The switch is an MS320-48 Layer 3 device.

did you change the default mtu size under switch > switch settings?
are you able to ping with this command?: ping www.meraki.com -l 1472 -f
what is the mtu size of your clients network adapter?: netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces

As I sought inspiration and ideas, flipping through the New Testament, I saw this: gather the fragments. I read what came before, curious about what framed it, and landed right in the center of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves, when Jesus is preaching before a large and hungry crowd.

My concern over here is when I am embedding the en language content fragment in content service page and rolling out that content service page to different locals, other local pages takes the en language content fragment only. Anyway to change reference to point to particular local content fragment?

Please provide the version including the service pack. The reason is to verify if a known issue has been fixed in a certain fix pack so we know if you have the fix in your instance. Also I am assuming the template a an editable template (?)

2. Content Fragment content is present as property main in the crx repo. You would have to add this property in the /content/dam context in translation rules for the content to be translated.

In your initial question you mentioned "would like to rollout the fragments to other locals" that means translation. So content fragments are assets in nature so they can not be rolled out individually if that's what you mean.

We have base site under en local. We then use MSM to rollout the site to other locals. We then provide the rolled out local pages to clay-tablet for translation. We would like to achieve the same for content fragments if it is possible. But as you said content fragments are assets in nature they can not be rolled out.

The team used machine learning to search SARS-CoV-2 proteins for fragments that resemble molecules called antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). The body makes these molecules as part of its defense against infections. Certain AMPs can bind to double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), which is produced during some viral infections. The resulting AMP-dsRNA complexes have been shown to trigger inflammation and have been implicated in autoimmune conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis. Among the SARS-CoV-2 AMP-like fragments, the team looked for those that carried a strong positive electric charge. This would allow them to bind dsRNA, which is negatively charged.

XenoAMPs bound to dsRNA and caused it to form liquid crystalline structures like those formed when AMPs bind to dsRNA. These structures were the optimal size and shape for binding to certain receptors that control the innate immune response. When tested in various types of human cells, the xenoAMP-dsRNA complexes enhanced inflammatory responses. They also triggered gene activity changes resembling those triggered by SARS-CoV-2 infection. Corresponding peptides from a common cold coronavirus did not bind and form such structures with dsRNA. They also did not enhance inflammation in the cells.

The researchers injected one of the xenoAMP-dsRNA complexes into the bloodstream of mice. After they did, the mice had higher levels of proinflammatory molecules in the blood, similar to those seen in people with COVID-19. They also had higher levels of various immune cells.

I am trying to understand some network issues, so I'm starting with the switches - (model 4200). From the web interface of this switch, I check the status of the ports, I found fragments and errors that I don't understand on port 31:

As you can tell by now, I'm not familiar with these totals, so from a professional to someone trying to learn, would this indicate, a bad nic card from the pc connected to the port, (don't laugh if I'm totally wrong on this....)

At first, I would check the duplex mode of these interfaces; it must be operating at full duplex mode. If it are operating at half duplex mode try to change the settings on both sides (switch port and NIC) to full duplex and check if the errors are still increasing.

At second, if there are no problems with the port settings, check the physical layer: NIC, cable, patch cords, patch panel and so on. Usually when a switch port shows problems with CRC, FCS, collisions and things like these there are errors at the physical layer or duplex settings.

I did as you said, first checking the duplex mode, it was running "downrated" at 10FD, I reset it to Full Duplex, then the pc was not able to connect at all to the network. Switched her line to another port, and now all seems fine, no more errors. So one more question, when I'm checking the status of these switches, anytime I find these errors, I should be testing out these ports or the nic card - correct?? I should always stay ahead of errors, it is not normal to see these large counts on the "history" reports - agree? And, I'm assuming this port is bad, I would not use this one again.

Aside from typographical errors, the two most common causes of fragments are the misuse of subordinators and the misuse of prepositions. In order to understand how these errors occur, it is first necessary to define clauses in English.

In English, a clause is defined as a unit that contains both a verb and its subject. As the following examples illustrate, a sentence may consist of a single clause or may contain multiple clauses:

This type of sentence fragment occurs because the subordinate clause is separated from the main clause and cannot stand on its own. Two clauses can be combined using a subordinating conjunction or an adverb to show the dependence of one clause on the other.

Sleep Fragments is a monthly feature sponsored by the Assembly on Sleep and Respiratory Neurobiology. Each tracing is in a question/answer format and is designed to test members' expertise in sleep medicine and polysomnography. The tracings may represent physiologic events, abnormal events, artifacts and sleep disorders. Tracings will come from both the adult and pediatric populations. Please come back each month for a new tracing.

All fragments up to Dec 2015 have been archived by pediatrics vs. adult group, and by topic categories as outlined by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine Certification Examination Blueprint. Use the drop-down menus below to narrow your search.
