Here are two excerpts I am posting since Hegel is dealing with the concept of Time in paragraph 801.  It is needed to see how Hegel approaches Time here, and what its philosophical correlates are so that we understand what he is doing.

a) from Kant's Critique of Pure Reason, his fundamental position as time as a subjective condition of experience.

b) From Foucault's Discipline and Punish, where, in his section "The Organization of Geneses" he talks about how the notion of time is related to capitalization of capability in the body (through, discipline, repetition, training, education) and the concept of as historical is related to the development of capital and the disciplinary formation of labour.

Enjoy (if you have the time!!)

There is only one solution if old age is not to be an absurd parody of our former life, and that is to go on pursuing ends that give our existence a meaning – devotion to individuals, to groups or to causes, social, political, intellectual or creative work … in old age we should wish still to have passions strong enough to prevent us turning in on ourselves. One’s life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others, by means of love, friendship, indignation, compassion. - Simone de Beauvoir
