Check out the Intersections Arts Festival opening next week (http://
intersectionsdc.org/), 'three weekends of multi-disciplinary arts
that celebrate differences and discover commonalities among artists
and audiences of diverse races, ages and cultures.'
There will be a number of great shows, including The Bridge of Bodies,
a one-woman show following the story of a Haitian-American woman
uncovering her past, and rediscovering her cultural memory and
heritage. It's by my good friend Kathleen Gonzales and directed by
another good friend Patrick Crowley. Kathleen is doing this show as
a fundraiser for the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti, and I
encourage everyone to come check it out.
Also catch Christylez's "In Pursuit of Me" also directed by Patrick, a
hip hop journey that you don't want to miss!
take care and for those on the East Coast, stay warm during the snow,
Anu

Marie-Therese immigrated to the United States carrying little
recollection of who she was and why she left. With her silent mother
as the only link to her past, Marie-Therese realizes that she must
return to her native Haiti to understand her true identity. The sights
and sounds of Haiti's troubled past are intimately captured in this
play about culture and identity. All proceeds benefit for Haitian
earthquake relief and recovery.
