World Premiere of Meena's Dream January 8-18, 2014 at Forum Theatre

Hello everyone,

This list will be shifting in the coming weeks, as I step up my game soon.... 

But before I do... I'm proud to share that I'll be debuting the complete version of my play Meena's Dream at Forum Theatre in Silver Spring, MD January 8-18, 2014.

It's an epic play I've been working on for the past two and a half years. I'm tackling childhood nightmares, grief, chronic illness, God, and healthcare, all in my first solo play since 'Capers back in 2006.  It's all wrapped up in the story of one girl fighting for a world where her mother can have the medicine she needs.  I have the honor of working with three brilliant musicians who are composing a live score to the play and Patrick Crowley who also directed 'Capers! I am overjoyed to share this piece with an audience.  

Forum Theatre also has a new ticketing policy.  Half of the seats of each show are pay-what-you-want starting one hour before the show.  I'd love to see you come out, and please come say hi after the show too.

About Meena’s Dream

Solo actress Anu Yadav shapeshifts between characters in this story of nine year-old Meena who desperately wishes her mother could get the medicine she needs.  By night, Hindu God Lord Krishna appears, entreating Meena's help in his war against the ‘Worry Machine.’  Featuring a live, original score with South Indian classical traditions, jazz and indie folk, Meena's Dream follows a young girl’s fantastical quest to face her fears and still dream of a world where everyone, including her family, can have enough.
