Hello everyone,

Working on this thesis production has been an absolute pleasure.  I am very excited to share it with you this weekend.  I hope you can make it out.  If not, I'm planning on developing the play even further, and performing it much more! It's gonna be FUN!!!!!!

As part of University of Maryland's MFA in Performance Festival of New Works, presented by the School of Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies.

ABOUT MEENA'S DREAM
Will 9 year-old Meena answer Lord Krishna's plea to battle the Worry Machine? A fantastical tale of a girl who may just save the world.  Meena wants her mother Aisha to be well again, while Lord Krishna seeks Meena’s help in his epic hour of need.  Solo performer Anu Yadav shapeshifts between characters in this coming-of-age tale of a girl struggling to make sense of sorrow through the landscape of her own imagination, set to a live, original score combining South Indian classical traditions, contemporary jazz and indie rock. Directed by Paige Hernandez. Development Dramaturgy by Caleen Jennings. Research by Anjna Swaminathan. Music by Anjna Swaminathan, Rajna Swaminathan and Sam McCormally.

ABOUT LET IT FLO!
A solo tour-de-force by Helen Hayes award-winning, Broadway actress Caroline Clay about the life and times of outrageously witty black radical feminist Flo Kennedy, celebrating the courage of what it takes to truly be free. Can you ever, especially as you age, come to terms with the often-unpopular choices that afford such freedom? When you choose to live fiercely, publicly and out loud, what happens when your legacy of achievement and struggle is erased from history? This is an invitation to find the place in all of us that is willing to forgive. Directed by Eric Ruffin. Choreography by Angela Ingraham.
