Technology in Washington DC
Festival Overview
The International Fest of Cinema and Technology (IFCT) announces an
upcoming film festival event at the Museum of Contemporary Art (*MOCA
DC) on August 2nd. This festival will screen short films from
filmmakers around the world and focuses on screening experimental
works including Experimental Documentary, Experimental narratives,
Experimental music videos and Experimental animation. The Museum of
Contemporary Art is located at 1054 31st St NW, Canal Square.
Countries with films represented at the upcoming DC event include the
U.S., U.K., Canada, Sweden,Romania, Ireland, Norway, France, Italy,
Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Brazil, Australia, Israel, The
Netherlands and others. The schedule is listed at

The IFCT World Tour is designed to give exposure to independent films
many of which previously had been underexposed to the public. The
festival's motto is it seeks to "discover the undiscovered film." The
"technology" in the festival's name occurs both in the content of the
festival, which tends to focus on themes of technology or feature
unique creation techniques, as well as in the method of showcasing
content at the events.
Film Screening Segments
On August 2nd, IFCT will present films at the Washington DC event
mostly which are making their premieres in the United States. The
International Fest of Cinema and Technology has been presenting
touring film festival events since 2002. In addition to the August DC
event, this year’s IFCT 2008 World Tour is also taking place in Los
Angeles, Melbourne, Seattle Jacksonville, and The Philippines.
Saturday August 2nd, the following screening sequences will be shown:
Experimental and Art Film Showcase
IFCT showcases a wide range of new cutting-edge experimental films,
many of which have never before been presented in the United States.
The films range from visually rich and dynamic and though-provoking to
very short 1-3 minute strikingly intense experimental cinema.
Experimental Documentary Showcase
This showcase of short experimental documentaries seeks to highlight
subjects from the artistic and visually interesting... to the
completely unexpected.
Music Videos and Experimental Animation
A sequence of short animated experimental films and unique artistic
music videos.
Short Foreign Thrillers
This sequence features short foreign films in the thriller genre.
The schedule of festival screenings and directions to the venues can

screenings of short films begin at 5pm-11:30pm. Tickets for each
