Note: The setup script setup_dxvk.sh was no longer deemed useful and got removed. This change will only affect users who manually install DXVK into a wine prefix, rather than using it through Proton or Lutris.
Work from dxvk-native has been upstreamed in order to facilitate native Linux builds of DXVK, which can be used as a drop-in replacement to port D3D applications without having to change rendering code.
Replaced the previous d3d11.apitraceMode option with d3d11.cachedDynamicResources, which provides a more granular way to specify resource types to allocate in cached system memory. Refer to the example dxvk.conf for details. This change was not made for the equivalent D3D9 option yet.
That script has largely remained the same for the lifetime of the dxvk project. There have been updates, some contributed by myself, but there all were improving robustness. None of them has changed the functionality itself. Given this history, I find it highly unlikely for it to require any change that isn't as simple as a sed command.
This is an utterly nonsense solution, creating a separate package for a 200-line script. Source packages can git revert the two commits that removed it, and this package can directly download from the latest commit on github that included it by adding this link to the source array _dxvk.sh.
so through trial and error i have discovered that my second graphics card disappears from my entire os until i reboot only when i run something with dxvk or vulkan i can run any emulator just fine in opengl but te second i even set up like dolphin-emu or ppsspp to run in vulkan bam my second graphics card disappears should i make a bug report? or dose anyone know how to fix it. i have an asus rog strix g15 amd advantage edition laptop with ad ryzen 9 5900HX and a rx6800m gpu.
Hi so im running on an acer nitro AN515-45 ryzen 5800h + nvidia 3060 on archlinux using kwin and wayland. im getting Xid errors whenever i run an external monitor connected to the hdmi port and begin running various vkd3d/dxvk games it only seems to occur once they try to fullscreen themself on launch. for example this happends when i launch hogwarts legacy.
Was playing around with both today
DXVK 2.0 doesn't work but 1.10.3 works
On my AMD card I had some weird results no msaa was slower than stock - but with MSAA on it was 14% faster than stock
might recheck that tomorrow, but big if true
Also played around with reshade which has some nice features
and is very useful if you are on amd as it lets you apply effects nvidia owners can apply
however the issue with both is the game detects them as mods
so you are unable to play on multiplayer servers
from a technical standpoint
I don't see why dxvk can't be fully enabled
either built into the client or at least not detected as a mod
all it requires are that two .dlls be approved
this would allow linux players onto multiplayer
and maybe a way for amd users to get back some lost performance and visual quality without requiring a lot of dev work
same with reshade
from a technical stand point again very easy
maybe check the two .inis are only using approved filters
reshade itself already limits some of its actions in multiplayer
by turning off its depth filter which doesn't anyone in il-2 anyway as it doesn't work with MSAA so harms spotting
this lets amd users be on par with the range of settings nvidia offers
in my experience the reshade sharpen filter is far superior to both the in-game and AMD native sharpen filter
while the saturation and gamma/contrast adjustments - look better and have less bugs than doing it via the AMD control panel
