I think that anything that aids and some how encourages a development
community to start to engage with the code is a good idea...

For ANUGA to truly achieve sustainable longevity requires more people to
gain some level of access and ownership of the code in being able to
contribute to it....

If GitHub assists in this its all good....

Who and How is the control of the code updates maintained ??
