Dear Anthoney,

I think it's kind of basic question, but I cant figure out how to add another level list to GSL and AWL,And also how many files can be run at the same time? thank you in advance for your answer.

Hi,

Have you watched the AntWordProfiler YouTube video? You can simply click the "choose" button and select an additional word list file.

There is basically no limit to how many files can be run at the same time.

I hope that helps.

Laurence.

Hi Sir,

Dear Anthony, If I give an overview of my project, would it be possible to help me use the best software available in your website?

Best, Afsane

 Hi,
I planed to prepare a management word list.I've compiled a corpus of about 5 million tokens that are going to be compared with the GSL, AWL and AVL. In order to find the coverage I need two lists, both lemmas and word families.I also want to clarify the parts of speech for lemmas as Gardner did.By the way, when i tried to run 804 files with AntWordProfiler it stopped working. I appreciate.

        Best,

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. AWP can work with your GSL, AWL and AVL lists and provide lemma information assuming the lists contain this information. If you POS tag all your raw data files and provide lists which also include POS information in the same form as the raw POS-tagged files, AWP can deal with POS information, too. However, you will need to set up the raw files and the lists in advance to do this.

I suggest you play with the software on a few tiny files and lists to understand how the program works.

AWP should certainly work fine with 804 files. When you say it stopped working, did you wait long enough for it to finish? Again. try a few small files and then simply copy and paste these into the same folder until you get to about 1000 files, and see how long that takes to finish so you can estimate the process time. I suspect the problem is that some of your 804 files are not UTF-8 encoded.

Laurence.

What kind of POS tagging will AWP cope with? For example, will it treat the following as two different words:
bank_N
bank_V

I thought it ignored punctuation (which leads me to another query about punctuation which I'll post separately).

thanks,
David
