Dear Professor Anthony,

I am trying to process the short texts of Japanese EFL students. The texts have been placed in individual .txt files
(roughly 120 texts). Spelling and punctuation errors have been corrected.

My end goal is to calculate lexical sophistication for each individual file:

"Advanced" Tokens/Total Tokens

However, there is a problem with duplication of results for Input File Type Stats. Please allow me to give a detailed description below, in case I am doing something wrong.

--------------------------------------------

I have tried the following version OS:

·       Operating system: 64-bit Windows 10 (AMD Ryzen 5900x)

·       Tool: AntWordProfiler

·       Versions:  2.2.1 (Windows Installer)

I did the following to process the pre-test results of one group:

  • File > Open Input File(s) > Group selected 26 .txt files > Open

This imported the 26 files into the "Target Files" window.

  • Clicked on the Statistics tab > clicked on the Update Statistics button
Ideally, I wanted to know the breakdown of coverage stats for each file (to calculate lexical sophistication). Though, as this isn't included, I figured I would be able to work with the data displayed in Input File Type Stats using Excel (though, I'm not sure that includes data for off-list words).

The problem is that the displayed output has what appears to be some form of duplication/transposition of the results. Where every .txt file has the same reported outcomes.

Please see the attached screen shot and output file.

---------------------------------------------------------------

To get around the above issue, I processed each file individually, but it would be greatly appreciated if you could instruct me on how to process a batch of files.

If you have any comments or suggestions on Lexical Sophistication, that too would be appreciated.

Thank you for your help!
