C++ target for Python3 grammar fails to parse correctly/equally to Java target

Greetings,

Having some difficulty parsing a Python script with the generated C++ target, I tried to parse it with one built for Java and found it didn't have the same problems. Specifically, the C++ target cannot tokenize Python's multiline strings correctly. (The Java target has issues with text formatting specifiers.)

The files causing trouble are in the imath library's tool directory: https://github.com/creachadair/imath/tree/master/tools.

Any suggestions on how to work around this difficulty?
