Examples of using defaultResult, aggregateResult & shouldVisitNextChild in Java Visitor

I can't see how these three methods are useful as currently implemented.

I'm busy working on visitors in the Go target and was hoping to get a better understanding of these methods.

As use-cases, I have a few grammars that currently use rule arguments, rule returns and actions.

The intent is to replace this language specific code with visitors, but I can't see how these three methods would help.

Before making a proposal to change things, I'd like to find out if anyone find these useful.
