I got a call today from Alexander Fountain.  His inlaws just bought a house on Antler Lake.  I am assuming AnnMarie and Duane’s.  He wanted to know if they could put a trampoline in the water.  I didn’t know the answer and was hoping one of you did.  Should I just refer him to the DNR website?

Thanks,

Laura

Have you reviewed the by laws?  What depth of water does it need to be in?  We are not that deep of a lake.  I’ve taken a floating raft out to the middle of the lake recently and we have rafts in front of a couple of properties.  Not sure if that is comparable?

You might also ask Mike Schumann.  He was ALA President for quite some time and involved in the drafting of the bylaws.

I would think it is similar to a swimming dock or raft.
Only caution would be the placement To not interfere with boat traffic and maybe a light to locate it.
I I’ll call the township. Mike would be a good source.

I was on the DNR site and they have a sheet that covers swim rafts and water trampolines. Might be best to refer him to there.

Can you send me a link to that please?

Also, we may need this for any new lake users so they are aware of speed on lake.

I would like to see the DNR rules for trampolines.
The note you sent was about speed limits on the lake.

I asked her for the website too.  Just thought we had some new people who might be interested in the ordinance 😉

From what the document says, the owners of the property would just need to follow rules outlined in the fact sheet.
Thanks-
Jeff

Good information. Can you send this to the new owner?
All the regulations seemed reasonable accept. Removing it daily. Could leave it if designated swimming area. I think the distance from shore and making it visible day or night is important.

Laura-
My assumption is that Dave was referring to you when he wrote “you” below to send the link over. I believe you are the only one who received the original communication.
Thanks.
