Digital Classicist Wiki Linked Open Data editing session

Date: Monday 13th July 2026, 16:00–17:00 BST (online only)

Organisers: Sarah Middle (University of York), Tom Gheldof (KU Leuven)

This online event brings together editors of the Digital Classicist Wiki with colleagues who work in the area of Linked Open Data. The DC Wiki (wiki.digitalclassicist.org) is a collaboratively maintained collection of records about digital projects, tools, approaches and other resources for ancient world studies, categorised by area of historical study as well as by digital humanities methods. The goal of this meeting is to improve and update the coverage of the DC Wiki relating to Linked Open Data, including relevant resources such as datasets or ontologies, as well as tools, projects, and infrastructures.

In this session we will introduce the process of editing the DCWiki, and invite participants to create or update pages on the resources they know about. Colleagues are also welcome to suggest relevant new material for potential inclusion in the DC Wiki.

If you would like to join the editing activity but do not already have an account on the Digital Classicist Wiki, please contact one of the site administrators *well before the day of the session* to request a new account be created for you. If you haven’t attended a previous tutorial or edited a MediaWiki site (e.g. Wikipedia) before, you may like to familiarise yourself with the editing guidelines: <https://wiki.digitalclassicist.org/Digiclass:Tutorial>.
